In Ragnarök Online, any class can create their own food dishes, which provide special stat bonuses temporarily, as well as restore a small amount of HP.

The effects of food items stack with other stat-boosting items, such as Blessing and Focus, but do not stack with items with similar effects, such as higher-level food dishes.

To learn how to cook, simply follow the steps below:

• Have at least one level recipe book in your inventory;
• Have a Cooking Kit in your inventory;
• Have all the ingredients needed to prepare the dish.

Formula

Cooking has a chance of failing and losing all ingredients used.

Chance = [(Base Lvl × 0.2) + (DEX × 0.2) + (LUKE × 0.1)] + ([Cooking Kit + Practice + Recipe Lvl)]%

Where:

• Practice = If you have produced more than 400 dishes, add 20% chance.

Cookbooks

Cookbooks for Level 1-5 recipes are bought with Chef Assistant in (prontera 156, 214)Copied.

Cookbooks for Level 6-10 recipes are dropped only by monsters. These items are not sold in shops.

Recipes

There are 10 recipe books with different levels that any class can craft.

Each level represents the attribute increased, for example, recipe books at level 1 provide food dishes with a +1 bonus to an attribute.

To get cooking kits, some ingredients and cooking recipe books, just talk to the Assistant Cook NPCs, some of these items can be bought, others can only be dropped.

Prepares a dish according to the ingredients specified in the Advanced Cooking Book. You need a Mix Cooking Cookbook.

Raising the skill level increases the number of dishes created at once.

Formula

Success Rate compares two values: Creation and Difficulty. If Creation results higher than Difficulty, dishes are successfully prepared, otherwise the cooking fails.

Creation = (Job_Lv ÷ 4) + (DEX ÷ 3) + (LUK ÷ 2)
Difficulty = Random(30 ~ 150) + Item_Rate

For Level 2:

• If Creation > Difficulty by at least 30, 10~12 dishes are prepared.
• If Creation > Difficulty by at least 10, 10 dishes are prepared.
• If Creation < Difficulty by exactly 10, 8 dishes are prepared.
• If Creation < Difficulty by at least 30, 5 dishes are prepared.
• If Creation < Difficulty by at least 50, the cooking fails.

Notes

• Melange Pot, Large Cookpot, Cooking Skewer, Black Charcoal, Cool Gravy, and Fine Noodle can be bought from Material Seller  in Al De Baran, south-west corner building (alchemist guild).
• Comodo Tropical Fruit can be bought from Comodo Tropical Fruit Dealer.
• When the cooking fails, it results in either Black Thing, Black Lump, Black Hard Lump, Very Hard Lump, or Mysterious Powder.
• Level 1 requires one set of ingredients, while Level 2 requires 10 sets of ingredients.
• Level 2 has the same success rate with Level 1. However, it does have a chance to prepare more dishes than normal with the same number of ingredients if Stats are high enough.
